You can request a character call through your My Reservations page. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see a section where you can schedule the call. You can choose a future date and time, or you can request the call immediately. If you select the immediate option, the call usually comes through within a few minutes.
When the phone rings, you will first hear a brief prompt letting you know this is your special call. This gives you a chance to put the phone on speaker. After pressing a button, the character message will play so everyone can hear it.
In some cases, Disney provides a phone number and a PIN instead. You call the number when you are ready, enter the PIN, and then put the phone on speaker once the message begins.
