Once your Disney cruise returns to Port Everglades, many travelers wonder whether it is better to take Disney’s ground transportation back to the airport or simply call an Uber. For debarkation day, there is usually no real advantage to using the official Disney transfer.
Disney buses are fantastic on embarkation day because they help you arrive early and simplify the check-in process. But on the way off the ship, the situation is very different. At Port Everglades, rideshares are plentiful, fast and inexpensive. In fact, getting an Uber is typically very easy and usually costs around fifteen dollars to reach Fort Lauderdale Airport. Cars are lined up throughout the morning and the ride is only a few minutes long.
If you prefer convenience, flexibility and a quick exit from the port, rideshare is generally the better option. Disney transportation will get you there just fine, but it is slower, more structured and not necessarily the best value once your vacation is over.
