Disney Cruise Line offers a Photo Unlimited package that gives you access to all the pictures taken of your party during your cruise. Photographers are stationed throughout the ship, including the atrium, dining rooms, character meet and greets, and many scheduled activities. You will also find photographers on Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay, so beach day photos are included as well. After your cruise, you can download the entire collection from Disney’s photo website and save them permanently.
The package is less expensive when purchased before your cruise rather than onboard. Pricing varies by sailing length, but for a recent three night cruise, the advance purchase price was $169 compared to $199 once onboard. This price difference encourages guests to decide early and add it before sailing, especially if they know they will want a lot of photos.
To add the package online, you must first be paid in full for your cruise. Once your balance shows as zero:
- Log in to “your “My Reservations” and go to the “My Plans” tab.
- Select the first day of your sailing and click “Add Activities.”
- Under the “Onboard Fun” category, you will find the Photo Unlimited Package. Choose “Select,”
- Assign the package to just one person in your stateroom. You do not need to assign it to multiple guests.
After you submit the request, the package will appear in your activity list and remain active for your entire cruise.
What if we have multiple staterooms can we share a photo package?
Many families sail with multiple staterooms and want to know whether one package can cover everyone. The official policy is no. The package applies only to the stateroom that purchases it, and it automatically includes the minor children listed under the purchaser’s reservation. Any photo that contains at least one of those people will be included in the package. Photos that contain only guests from a second or third stateroom will not appear in the primary package. Disney uses facial recognition technology to sort the images, so the system identifies who is included.
There is a partial workaround for linked reservations. If additional staterooms want a discounted photo package, they can purchase their own onboard at 50% off by visiting Shutters, the photography center. This is only available once you are on the ship, and it applies to connected staterooms in the same travel party. While this does not combine the photos into one package, it reduces the price for families traveling together.
Getting your Disney cruise photos
Keep in mind that Disney photo downloads expire forty five days after your cruise ends. Make sure to save all your images before the deadline so you do not lose access. Many guests download everything as soon as they return home, then sort and organize the photos later.
The photo package can be a great value if you enjoy character experiences, want formal portraits, or have kids who light up when the photographers appear. Adding it ahead of time is the easiest way to lock in the lower price and know that your memories will be waiting for you when you get home.
