If you see Mickey churro waffles listed on a Disney Cruise breakfast menu, do not let the name confuse you. They are not waffles at all. They are actually churros shaped like the classic Mickey waffle, complete with the round head and two ears that Disney fans instantly recognize.
Instead of the soft and fluffy texture of a traditional waffle, these are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside just like a churro. Once cooked, they are generously coated in cinnamon and sugar, giving them that warm sweet crunch that makes churros so popular in the parks. They are usually served plain, though some guests like to dip them in syrup for an extra indulgent breakfast treat.
You will not typically find them every morning of your sailing. On longer cruises, they often appear on a sea day when everyone is onboard and brunch feels a little more festive. On shorter three and four night sailings, they are commonly served on the last full day.
