On MSC Cruises, the minibar is only included for certain Suite guests, specifically those booked in Aurea Suites. It is important to understand that this benefit does not apply to all Aurea rooms, only the Suite category.
For eligible guests, the minibar is stocked at the beginning of the cruise and those initial items are included at no extra cost. This typically includes a mix of juices, sodas and beers. Once those items are consumed, any refills will be charged to your account.
Does the drink package cover mini bar items?
It is also worth noting that your drink package does not cover minibar items. Even if you have a beverage package, it only applies to drinks ordered at bars, restaurants and lounges around the ship. Anything taken from the minibar after the initial setup will come with a charge.
If you do not plan to use the minibar beyond the first round, you can ask your room steward not to restock it. Many guests do this and then use the minibar as a small refrigerator for personal items. This is a simple way to avoid unexpected charges while still getting some use out of the space.
MSC mini bar prices
For reference, refill prices can add up quickly. Mini bottles of liquor are around $14, juice about $4.50, soda $3.50, beer around $9 and snacks like nuts about $5. Knowing this ahead of time can help you avoid surprises on your final bill.
