Disney Cruise Line allows adult guests to bring a limited amount of alcohol onboard, and this applies at every port, not just embarkation day. Each adult can bring either a six pack of beer or one bottle of wine, or a combination of the two. If there are two adults in your stateroom, that means you can bring up to twelve beers, or two bottles of wine, or mix and match based on your preference.
This allowance also resets at each port of call. For example, when you stop in Nassau, you can pick up another six pack and bring it back on the ship. This can be a great way to enjoy familiar drinks without paying bar prices, especially on longer itineraries.
Officially, Disney’s policy states that alcohol you bring onboard is meant to be consumed in your stateroom. In practice, this rule is often loosely enforced, and many guests enjoy their own beer, poured into a different cup, in other areas of the ship without issue. That said, enforcement can vary, so it is best to be discreet and respectful of posted rules.
Your stateroom includes a cooler that looks like a mini fridge, but it does not get as cold as a standard refrigerator. It is fine for keeping beer cool, just not ice cold. Many people supplement it with ice from the beverage stations if they like their drinks extra cold.
If you bring your own bottle of wine into the main dining room, Disney charges a corkage fee of $29 per bottle.
Even if you do not bring your own alcohol, Disney Cruise Line is very flexible about drinks purchased onboard. You can order a drink at one bar and walk to another location, take a drink with you to trivia, or bring it into the main dining room. Bringing a drink to dinner is an easy way to enjoy it right away, often much faster than waiting for your server to take and deliver a drink order.
