Traditionally, Disney Cruise Line photo packages needed to be purchased either before your cruise, usually at a discount, or while you were still onboard. Once you disembarked, access to purchasing photos was very limited, which meant many guests felt pressure to decide before the cruise ended.
That is beginning to change. Starting January 21, 2026, United States residents sailing on or after that date will have the option to view, download, and purchase their cruise photos after disembarkation. This is a significant shift from Disney’s long-standing approach and gives guests more time to decide without the rush of the final night onboard.
However, until we see the post cruise pricing, you will probably want to add a photo package to your account ahead of time for the best price.
For future cruises sailing on or after January 21, 2026, this new option makes it much easier to wait until you are home, review your photos at a relaxed pace, and then decide whether they are worth purchasing however it is probably more expensive than the pre cruise price.
